This coffee comes from the birthplace of Indian coffee—Bababudangiri, in the lush Western Ghats. Grown at Ratnagiri Estate, this medium roast captures the region’s vibrant altitude and climate in every sip.
After harvest, the cherries are fermented for 42 to 72 hours and then slowly dried on raised beds—a process that brings clarity and a soft, fruity sweetness to the cup.
Expect bright notes of peach, apricot, and apple, all layered into a clean, juicy brew. It's light on the palate but full of flavor.
We named this coffee Bababudan in honor of the Sufi saint who first brought coffee to India, planting seven beans in these very hills over 350 years ago.
As always, this coffee is roasted to be approachable, whether you’re just starting out or love dialing in a brew at home.
Varta Coffee is here to spotlight India’s incredible coffee farms!
